  • Bloom Again

    By Charlie Hall

    Crying seems to hurt me
    But it's alright to cry
You have been so strong now
    Your tears return to wine

    And life seems so brittle
    Landing upside down
It seems to make us fragile
    And bares upon us now

    Oh, the leaves are falling
    Winter now is here
    The spring is coming
    And you can bloom again

The beauty of the ash of love
    When you emerge
    You are more beautiful
    Bloom again

    Some storms leave the beauty
    Some storms leave the thorns
    Compassion pours from heaven
    Mercy every dawn

    Somewhere in this whirlwind
    Somewhere in this crowd
    Hold up to His heartbeat
    And push away the sounds

    Oh, the leaves are falling
[ Charlie Hall Lyrics are found on www.songlyrics.com ]
    And winter is now here
    The spring is coming
    And you can bloom again

The beauty of the ash of love
    When you emerge
    You are more beautiful

And may be I should say your name
And may be I should say your name out loud
May be I should say your name
May be I should say your name out loud

The beauty of the ash of love
    When I emerge
    I am more beautiful

The beauty of the ash of love
    When I emerge
    I am more beautiful
    Bloom again
    (Bloom again)

  • Listening

I'm listening, I hear your pain, struggle, and discouragement.  I want to help, I want to be there for you, but you keep pushing me away.  You have made it very obvious that you no longer want to be associated with me.  You put a time limit of getting to know you...and I guess my time is up.  I'm here for you friend if you need someone, but the cold shoulder has become icy.  I'm not going to force friendship, however, please know I'm here anytime you need a friend.  If you want to walk away, however painful, I respect your decision.  I wish and pray showers of blessing over you and on all your endeavors.  I've enjoyed our talks and time together go in peace good friend.

  • Thoughts to seriously ponder...

This note was found in the desk of a young African pastor after he was martyred:
“I’m part of the fellowship of the unashamed.  I have the Holy Spirit’s power.  The die has been cast.  I have stepped over the line.  The decision has been made - I'm a disciple of His.  I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.  My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure, I'm finished and done with low living, sight walking, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, worldly talking, cheap giving and dwarfed goals.
"I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits or popularity.  I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded.  I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, am uplifted by prayer and I labor with power.
"My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my Guide is reliable, my mission is clear, I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed.  I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the enemy, pander at the pool popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.
"I won't give up, shut up, let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, and preached up for the cause of Christ.  I am a disciple of Jesus.  I must go, until He comes, give, until I drop, preach, until all know, and work until He stops me.  And, when He comes back for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me...my banner will be clear!"

  • Who's Puppet are You?

I was thinking today, on my beautiful day, off just how much we let the people in our lives influence the decisions we make.  Advice is good to give and get from family and friends, but how often do we really stop to think about what the Lord is saying and what we know deep down in our hearts.  Family and friends do see situations from different perspectives, however they also may not have as clear a view as we do.  I am by no means suggesting that we should ignore the council of those close to us, but more importantly we should not make hasty decisions solely based on what others say.  It is so hard sometimes to hear the voice of reason, amidst the shouting and yelling of everyone around you....sometimes it may be just one or two people you hold in high esteem.  Regardless of whoever these individuals are and what they say, don't give them that kind of power over you...you are in reality letting them be your puppeteer.  From what I have experienced, I listen to peoples advice, particularly to any similar experiences that they have had, then I walk and pray.  The Lord has never fooled me or tricked me into making a bad decision.  I will not lie there have been times where His guidance seemed ludicrous,  but in hindsight, I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that He knew best.  Please know that your family and peers are not usually trying to manipulate your life they do indeed have good and sincere intentions, just take the time to seek the Lord too....you may be pleasantly surprised where He leads you!

  • It's for fun...(Isn't the best way to save face to keep the lower part shut?)

Recently, I stumbled onto iGoogle.com.  Do check it out....just for fun!  It is an interesting part of the whole Google network.  You can add fun little features a.k.a. addons to it.  I have really enjoyed the "Points to Ponder" section, Healthy eating tips, Exercising tips, Famous quotes, the BBC news, and there are others.  It is just nice to refresh the page and see a funny little new idea to ponder. Some of them are a little out there, but they have had some that make you think about just how bizzare the English language can be sometimes.   We do say many things that when you stop to think are actually oxymorans....

     My favorite quotes today are:

"The absence of alternatives clears the mind marvelously." - Henry Kissinger
"A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word 'darkness' on the walls of his cell." C.S. Lewis
"Forgiveness is the answer to the child's dream of a miracle by which what is broken is made whole again, what is soiled is again made clean." - Dag Hammarskjold
